Abstract
The study is designed to assess the Food Security at The Household Level In Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
The survey research design was used. The instrument used was a questionnaire titled "Assess the Food Security At The Household Level In Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State." In carrying out this study, one hundred (100) respondents were drawn from the area through the use of simple random sampling techniques. The instrument used for the study was the questionnaire derived from five research questions. It contained twenty-five items dealing with the views and opinions of respondents. The research instrument was validated by experts in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, including the project supervisor. The reliability index obtained from the instrument was 0.74. A simple percentage and frequency count were used to analyze the collected data.
Based on these findings, it was recommended that; households in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State should explore and promote alternative income-generating activities, such as small-scale enterprises, artisanal work, or off-farm employment, to supplement household food sources and improve overall food security.
