The success of every educational institution depends on its physical plant being in good shape. Keeping the school in usable condition as a safe haven during times of crisis requires constant upkeep. Repair may be performed before costly corrective maintenance is needed by conducting frequent inspections of the building and all of its facilities. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the difficulties associated with building maintenance at the University of Benin in order to provide novel solutions to these issues. The study's goals are to assess the facility's present condition and examine the difficulties it faces. The purpose of this research is to examine the difficulties encountered by the university of Benin's facilities management team in Edo state, Nigeria. Questionnaires sent to potentially relevant respondents were the main method of data gathering. A statistical program for social science was used for the data analysis on the computer (SPSS). The goal of the research was to identify problems with building upkeep at the University of Benin and suggest new approaches to fixing them. The university's 17 buildings were rated, and the "Vice chancellor" building came out on top in terms of quality of construction. In order to offer a comfortable living environment and minimize the spread of germs, student hostels must be enhanced. Experts in charge of the University's infrastructure should do regular checks on all of the campus's buildings to identify those that are in need of refurbishment due to their age.
