Four research questions and one hypothesis guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was used to carry out the study. The sample was made up of 43 business education lecturers drawn from universities in Edo and Delta States. A four point rating scale questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. It was validated by experts and a reliability co-efficient of 0.82 was determined using the Cronbach alpha method. Data collected was analyzed using simple percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. Simple percentage was used to analyze the respondents by status of university, mean and standard deviation for research questions, while t-test was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. Data analysis revealed that shorthand, typewriting, communication, ICT, data processing; a higher degree, knowledge of Office Technology and Management subject matter; experience in industrial collaboration and classroom management among others were needed for effective delivery of Office Technology and Management programmes. It was recommended among others that the National Universities Commission (NUC) should emphasize the study of appropriate skills and pedagogy in the curriculum of Office Technology and Management. Management of universities should regularly organize refresher courses and other professional development programmes for academic manpower as this will improve their professional competencies.
