ABSTRACT
This study investigated the role of adult education in addressing the issue of workplace training in Oredo Local Government Area, Benin city.
In order to attain the objectives of the study, five research questions were raised on which the study is centered.
The study's participant consisted of 100 adults workers, chosen through a simple random sampling method, divided equally between two groups: Fifty (50) adult learners from public sector institutions in Oredo local government area and Fifty (50) adult learners from private sector institutions in the same region, ensuring a representative sample for the research investigation..
The research instrument is a questionnaire designed by the researcher and will be titled ‘‘The Influence of workplace training programmes for adults Questionnaire (IWTPAL)’’. The instrument was validated in the Department of Adult and Non-formal Education, of the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City.
The research findings underscore the efficacy and value of adult education programs in fostering career readiness, achieving learning objectives, and preparing adults for success in the workforce. Based on these outcomes, the decision has been made to continue investing in and supporting these programs, recognizing their essential role in promoting adults success and contributing to the betterment of society through education
