ABSTRACT
Technology affects every aspect of life and law. We started to hear about robots, intelligent agents, drones, cloud computing, and more often nowadays; the internet. The use of technology will definitely save on workforce costs and time, but inevitably legal issues will ensue. Problems expected to arise will concern many fields of law but especially intellectual property rights. In a nutshell, in the upcoming future, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be able to do whatever a human is doing and way more than that. Still, there is a lot of ambiguity regarding Artificial Intelligence, and the pros and cons are one of the most debated topics these days. Though there is not a single accepted definition of Artificial Intelligence but the most basic understanding is that it is about developing machines and software which can carry out functions that generally require human intelligence. There is no doubt that the field of Intellectual Property has and will always be impacted by AI and the intersection might be two-faceted. On one hand, it can prove to be an asset to the field of intellectual property but can also pose a threat. This paper will discuss in detail the impact of AI on Intellectual Property with specific reference to Artificial intelligence assisted creation.
