ABSTRACT
Information systems provide a seamless operational process, eliminating the manual processes tied to conventional systems. Information system comprises of several integral system components which includes- computer hardware, computer software, telecommunication, database and human resource. Its application has been felt in virtual all facet of the economy including the educational sectors. This project employed Unified theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model is assessing the acceptance of University of Benin Student Information System (Kofa/Waeup). A set of survey instruments (questionnaires) was constructed based on UTAUT constructs. The research data was collected through the construction and distribution of qualitative and quantitative questionnaires, numbering one hundred (100), distributed to respondents (students) within the University. Of these numbers ninety- five (95) questionnaires were collected as non-mutilated questionnaires which was subsequently analyzed. The findings which subsequently analyzed. The findings which were subsequently reported showed that clearly that performance expectancy (25%), effort expectancy (24%), social influence (23%) and facilitating condition (26%) has minimally influenced the usage of University of Benin student Information system (KOFA/WAEUP). In fact, it is difficult that student’s usage is tied to any of the aforementioned UTAUT constructs. The behavior intent and use were difficult to trace because most student held a neutral view (34%).
