APPLICATION OF REGRESSION ANALYSIS ON HEALTHCARE DATA

ABSTRACT

This project work focuses on the application of regression analysis on healthcare data. In particular, a case study of multiple regression and correlation analysis on systolic blood pressure, age group and gender of the patients, using Suyi hospital in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria as the study area. We started by giving a brief introduction to regression and correlation analysis, the aims and objectives of the as well as a review of the works of some authors, statisticians, and researchers on regression and correlation analysis. Much time was given to obtain the secondary data used for the analysis of this research work. The data were subjected to descriptive analysis and Multiple regression analysis and test at 5% significance level by the t-test. The study therefore recommends; the level of blood pressure is dependent upon age group of patients therefore treatments should be taken to control cases of hypertension and low hemoglobin level of patients admitted in hospitals, the analysis of healthcare data should be based on the use of multiple regression technique to vividly analyze the multiple variables of the study.
