APPLICATION OF NODAL ANALYSIS FOR PRODUCTION OPTIMIZATION

ABSTRACT

Using the PROSPER system analysis program, we were able to correctly calibrate and optimize Well X-05. Achieving an accuracy of 0.02% in pressure drop calculation and 0.5% in flow rate calculation demonstrates successful calibration of the well using the calibration matching technique. The majority of the production system components and their influence on the well's production performance were analyzed using PROSPER and the Nodal analysis technique. This demonstrates the usefulness of the Nodal Analysis method for modeling well performance provided that the configuration and location of all system components are represented precisely. Sensitivity studies for a well can be conducted with complete confidence if precise matching/calibration of the well model to fit the real-life case scenario of the well is achieved.
