ABSTRACT

This paper presents the development of an API system that utilizes advanced language models and natural language processing techniques to enable users to extract relevant information from PDF documents through intuitive natural language queries. The proposed system allows users to ask questions about a PDF in plain language and receive contextual answers pulled from the relevant sections. The architecture follows a modular design with components for processing PDFs, generating semantic embeddings, indexing content, understanding user queries, and generating natural language responses. The implementation leverages Python, the Django web framework, the LangChain library for language models, and integration with Google's Generative AI API. Thorough testing strategies, documentation, and user guidance were incorporated. The work aims to overcome limitations of traditional keywordbased PDF search by harnessing cutting-edge language AI to provide a scalable, user-friendly experience for information extraction.
