ABSTRACT
This study comparatively explores the Application of audio-visual teaching aids in teaching history in senior secondary school in sapele L.G.A of Delta State, Nigeria. Four well-structured research questions were formulated and sixteen questionnaires were administered to the respondent to collect response from them, the population for the study include senior secondary school student in Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State. To conduct the study, a total of 100 respondents were drawn from the four schools. The respondents were chosen using the simple random sampling technique from the SSS 1 to SS3 classes of each school. Results shows that Thekeychallengeencounteredbytheteachersintheuseof audio-visual aids was lack of funds to provide andmaintaintheaudio-visualaids.Thiswasfollowedbythefactthattheyaretoodifficulttooperate.. Thus, it was therefore recommended that the government, school administrationandMinistryofEducationshouldprovideregular power supply in secondary schools inordertopoweraudio-visualmaterialslikecomputers,educationaltelevision,videoset.Thiswillgoalongwaytoimproveteachingandlearninginschools
