ABSTRACT
Three lines 2-Dimensional Electrical Resistivity Imaging Survey profiles of length 120m were carried out to locate and delineate at Abudu, Edo State Nigeria. Wenner Array was used for the field data acquisition using petro-Zenith Earth Resistivity. In this project work only the result of one profile location was discussed which was at COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ABUDU, ORHIOWMON LOCAL GOVBERNMENT AREA EDO STATE. The field data was processed using RES 2d software to obtain 2-dimensional true resistivity of the desired subsurface site chosen for investigation. Geological interpretation of the resistivity pictures shows that there are more gravel deposit in line 1 and line 2 which have been identified for future drilling operations especially for road construction when compared to line 3.Wenner array was employed in the electrode configuration. Three lines were taken from Abudu area of Edo state, and the resistivity values obtained from these lines were interpreted to yield resistivity images of the earth’s subsurface. The equipment used to take the resistivity values was the petrozenith earth resistivity meter, the aqcuired data was interpreted using RES 2D software. From the results obtained from the investigation Line 2 and 3 were found to be very rich in gravel deposits and at a depth of 10 meters respectively, Line 9 had scanty and sparse traces of clay deposits that could be seen at a depth of 5 meters. Thus, the location were found to be rich in gravel deposits.
