ABSTRACT

Fungal infections continue to be a source of concern for global health as it affects a wide range of people, animals and plants.Neem leaves, obtained from the Azadirachta indica tree, have been used for centuries in traditional medicine and agriculture for their diverse medicinal and pesticide properties. In addition, neem leaf extracts provide natural alternatives in agricultural pest control and minimize the need for chemical pesticides. Soursop leaves, derived from the soursop plant (Annona muricata), have attracted attention for their potential health benefits. Research suggests that soursop leaf extract may have therapeutic potential in the management of various health conditions, although additional studies are needed to fully understand its effectiveness and severity. The aim of this work was to determine the antifungal activity of neem leaf plant and soursop leaf alongside the conventional antifungal agent, fluconazole. The antifungal activity of plant extracts and their combinations with antifungals was evaluated againstAspergillusspp, Candida spp, fusarium spp and pencillium. using the disk diffusion dilution method by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC). The combination of Neem leaf and soursop leaf shows no promising antifungal activities with MIC =0 and MFC    =0.
