The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the world of theatrical productions, with theatrical makeup being a critical aspect affected by this unprecedented crisis. This study examines the specific effects of the pandemic on theatrical productions, focusing on the use of theatrical makeup as a case study. Through a comprehensive review of literature, and interviews with theatre professionals, this study explores the challenges faced by Theatrical makeup artists and the theatre community at large during the pandemic. It investigates the limitations imposed by social distancing measures, closure of theatres, and the need for enhanced safety protocols. The research reveals that the pandemic has significantly disrupted the traditional process of theatrical makeup application. Makeup artists have had to adapt their techniques to accommodate face masks, implement stringent hygiene practices, and adjust to the demands of virtual performances. Furthermore, the study highlights the innovative solutions and creative approaches employed by Theatrical makeup artists and theatre professionals to overcome these challenges.
