ABSTRACT
This study is centred on analysis of teaching method of economics in Secondary Schools in Oredo local Government Area Edo State. The purpose of this study for to find out how effective are some teaching methods of economics in enhancing secondary school students interest and performance in the subject matter . The population consist of 276 Teachers in Oredo Local Government Area as reported by Edo by Ministry of Education 2019/2020 and a representation of 5 selected schools and 20 teachers each from the total sample size of 100 respondents in Oredo Local Government Area were sampled. Using a random sampling techniques. Five research questions were used to guide the study and the mean method was used for data analysis. The finding of this study was to determine the impact of selected teaching methods on the performance of secondary school students or how effective they are in impacting on their achievement.Based on the findings, it is recommended that government should ensure to employ qualified teachers in the field of economics and as well ensure to carried out a continuous orientation on educate teachers on the need to use the right teaching method in their lesson since the method they employ at a particular time will determine how students will perform in economics.
