ABSTRACT
This study helps the analysis of food consumption habits of adolescence in Edo state. This local government consists of thirteen (13) senior secondary school with the population of nine thousand, five hundred and twenty-eight (9,528) students and a sample size of one hundred (100) respondent for easy data analysis. The findings show the specific types of foods and beverages adolescent typically consume in Edo state is to a low extent. The researcher therefore suggests that government should implement nutrition education programs in schools and communities to increase awareness and knowledge about healthy eating among students, parents and caregivers. Include topics like the importance of balanced diets, understanding food labels, and the benefits of fruits and vegetables and promote school-based nutrition: stake holders, government should encourage schools to provide nutritious meals through school feeding programs and canteens that offer healthy options. Establish and enforce guidelines for the types of food sold or served in schools to limit access to unhealthy snacks and sugary beverages.
