ABSTRACT
This study investigated the Use of Drama as a Viable means of Child Education and Development using UNIBEN Consultancy School as a Case Study. The study was anchored on Lev Vygotsky’s Socio-cultural Theory of Child Development. The investigation was carried out within the teaching staffs of UNIBEN Consultancy School. Based on the survey methodology and random sampling technique, the questionnaire was used for data collection. Twelve (12) Respondents were sampled data was analyzed in simple percentage and presented in tables. Findings revealed that Drama in education is a special teaching method which is human and society oriented and through its multifaceted nature, it drives Better understanding of the subject matter. Also, Drama in education helps the child to build self-confidence, courage and also develop presentational skills. The study therefore recommends an urgent need for Curriculum developers to include and highlight learning and teaching approaches like the use of drama during curriculum review for they make learning interesting and enjoyable.
