ABSTRACT
This work lays out an investigation of linguistics features of netspeak.
The data for this study was gotten from the netizens of netspeak, the aim and objectives of this research project is to understand the linguistics impact of netspeak on communication, norms and language learning, to examine the linguistic characteristics, to analyze the implications of Netspeak on comprehension, interpretation and interpersonal relationships in online communication and to also explore the influence of Netspeak on language learning, teaching and language proficiency in digital communication. The theoretical framework adopted in the content analysis is the systematic functional Linguistic (SFL) developed by Michael Halliday. Another theoretical framework adopted is the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). The project also investigates the morphological process used in the analysis of netspeak
