AN INVESTIGATION OF SEXUAL MOLESTATION AND STUDENT SECURITY AMONG THE UNIVERSITY OF BENIN STUDENTS

Summary

This study was designed toInvestigate Sexual Molestation And Student Security Among The University Of Benin Students. Since sexual molestation is a social phenomenon, it is necessary to determine how it affects students security in the university Environments.. Thus, based on the data collected the following findings were made therein:

• After analyzing the data it was revealed that all the respondents have an understanding of what sexual molestation means.
• Also, according to the findings some of the causes of sexual molestation areInsecurity, indecent dressing and over attachment to opposite sex.
• It also revealed that several forms of sexual molestation exist in the human community. Which ranges from rape, assault, couple sexual abuse etc
• Furthermore, it was revealed that sexual molestation is as a result of an increasing rate of insecurity in the university community.
• Also, it was found out in this study that   apart from its effect on academic performance, sexual molestaition in the school community could lead to the feeling of depression amongst its victim.
