Conclusion

Based on this study, the expectant mothers had low-level of nutritional knowledge in the study area. This could be attributed to their level of education, significant others income and nutrition information during pregnancy. The significance of satisfactory nourishment in the community can't be overemphasized with regards to the endless loop impact that under nutrition can cause a negative effect from pregnancy to the infant and beyond. Ideal nutritional status should be maintained during pregnancy. Nutrition education to expectant mothers amid their antenatal clinic visit enhanced the nutrition knowledge of the expectant mothers. It also helps to improve dietary intake during pregnancy and improve adherence to routine medications and supplements.
