ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution from a 2-D imaging survey of the study area, Otuoke, Bayelsa State. Wenner alpha array was used as a survey technique to give information about changes in the subsurface resistivity. The area of reconnaissance survey has the outcrop of special interest.2D electrical resistivity data acquisition was carried out at the location. A series of 2D apparent resistivity data were acquired by using Wenner-Alpha electrode configuration. Electrode separation of (a)= 10m, 20m, 30m, 40m, 50, 60m for each profile line was obtain. The total length of investigation was taken as 200m. The inversion of the measured apparent resistivity was done using computer inversion software (RES2DINV).
The result showed some subsurface deposit from the survey and the tomography images of the subsurface shows that some of the likely minerals found are conductive fluids and/or layers with clay, sand and clay lenses included or embedded in major known sedimentary unitsminerals. The lithology of the study area has resistivities from the range of 7Ωm -163Ωm and 2Ωm -168Ωm.
