ABSTRACT
The radio medium continues to be as relevant and effective as it was in the early years despite the emergence of more captivating media. This mostly as a result of its mode of assimilation being passive. It is also much cheaper and wide covering today. This study was aimed at using radio drama as a media form to reach and sensitize the public about domestic violence, adapting from Adichie’s work in Purple Hibiscus. The domestic violence plot from the book was adapted into Radio drama and professionally documented for airplay. In conclusion, the work brought closer the subject of Domestic violence to listeners whom might be too busy for other forms of captivating media. It is a very important topic and hence requiring such publicity. Sensitization on more touching issues such as domestic violence should be wide and thorough in every society and having it on the radio is one very good way to do that, thus a recommendation.
