ABSTRACT
This study evaluates the influence of technology on the youth, taking into account John Dewey's educational approach. In today's digital era, where technology is increasingly integrated into education, it is crucial to examine its impact on young learners through the lens of Dewey's philosophy. The abstract provides a concise summary of the problem statement, research objectives, methodology, key findings, and implications of the study. The study investigates the effects of technology on experiential learning, critical thinking skills, integration with real-life experiences, social and emotional development, and equity and access. By analyzing these factors, the research aims to shed light on the potential benefits and drawbacks associated with technology in education, as viewed in the context of Dewey's educational principles. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, qualitative interviews with educators and students, and analysis of relevant educational policies and practices. The findings reveal that while technology offers opportunities for enhanced access to information and virtual experiences, it poses challenges to hands-on experiential learning, critical thinking, and the development of social and emotional skills. Furthermore, the study highlights the disparities in access to technology-based resources, raising concerns about equity in education. The implications of this research suggest the need for a balanced approach in integrating technology into education. Educators should carefully consider the design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences to ensure they align with Dewey's principles of experiential learning and critical thinking. Additionally, efforts must be made to address the digital divide and promote equitable access to technology resources among all students. This study contributes to the understanding of the complex relationship between technology and education, offering insights into the potential benefits and challenges associated with its integration among the youth. By incorporating Dewey's educational approach, policymakers, educators, and stakeholders can make informed decisions regarding the effective use of technology to support the holistic development of young learners in the digital age.
