ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to assess and evaluate the level of peace advocacy programs aired on Edo Broadcasting Service Radio [EBS 95.7FM] Benin City, Edo State. Respondents around Ekehuan and Ekehuan campus environs were randomly selected to guide the research study. The objective of the study is to assess the level of Edo state residents’ awareness and value of peace advocacy programs aired on radio in the state. The data collection employed was employed was the survey method and data’s were gathered through the use of questionnaire given out to 100 respondents. The findings of this research work includes that majority of the state’s residents do not often listen to peace programs via radio and that EBS sometimes airs these peace programs.
At the end of this research, the researcher recommended that more emphasis be placed and more air time be given to the importance and the essence of peace advocacy in any society especially a developing one like Nigeria; and its valued effect when the campaign for peace is loud and clear, especially when the gender role/importance is emphasized.
