SUMMARY
Medical ethics applies ethical reasoning to medical decision making. It is primarily concerned with the critical reflection about “what ought or ought not to be done” within the context of medical practice. Medical ethics often involves the search for the morally acceptable solutions in situations where different moral concerns, interests and priorities conflict. Before taking any medical decision, a careful assessment of the situation—alongside relevant concerns and interests, should be taken into full consideration. Medical ethics is concerned with the process through which a moral decision was reached in the practice of medicine.
