ABSTRACT
In Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, this study examines how child abuse affects secondary school pupils' academic performance. The study had four research objectives: to examine the effects of physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, and child exploitation on secondary school students' academic performance. The survey-based study included 174 secondary schools in the LGA. The study sampled 6 schools using basic random sampling. Simple percentages were used to analyse questionnaire-collected primary data. Research shows that child abuse severely impacts kids' physical, sexual, and psychological interactions and academic performance. The government should create child abuse prevention programmes and policies to educate students, parents, and teachers about abuse, its indicators, and how to prevent it.
