ABSTRACT
This study examined the methods of teaching composition writing in English language in Junior Secondary Schools taking Egor Local Government Area of Edo State as a case study. The Study assessed teachers' awareness on the methods of teaching composition writing.. The study surveyed 39 English language teachers across the Junior Secondary Schools in Egor Local Government Area. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The findings from the study showed that teachers should provide guidance, support and feedback. The study concluded that teacher’s sex have an influence on the methods of teaching composition writing, and that teachers’ qualification and experience also have influence on the methods used by teachers in teaching composition writing . Finally, based on the findings and conclusion, appropriate recommendations like regular professional development programs and seminar for English Study teacher’s in Egor Local Government Areas was recommended among other.
