ABSTRACT
The history of Nigeria is tainted with the absence of good moral and ethical values in the conduct of the ruling class. To this end, this research work articulates a road map for the country in its quest to engendered development. In attempting to do this, the work adopts a qualitative method of research. Based on the findings of this work, the researcher puts forward some recommendations which includes values re-orientation, the need to be more patriotic, building stronger institutions amongst others.
