ABSTRACT
This research project is focused on the area of the exposure of hate speech bill and the curbing mechanism against misinformation in Nigeria. Three goals were highlighted which included: To determine the commonality of misinformation in Nigeria, to identify whether social media has added to misinformation in Nigeria and to find out if the hate speech bill is methodical enough to diminish the rate of misinformation in Nigeria. A total of 399 responses were returned representing 100% rates, from the enrolled participants where all respondents were drawn from are the residents in Ikpoba Okha South Local Government Area of Edo State .Hypothesis was tested using Taro Yamane Model.
