ABSTRACT
This research shows an assessment of how NTA handles Government Foreign Policy news. It is also aimed at ensuring that effective information for the awareness and development of the nation is being disseminated. In doing this, the study highlights the importance of broadcasting this news item and the extent to which NTA goes to ensure factual information is aired. The survey and oral interview research method were adopted for the study, using the proportionate stratified sampling technique to draw 115 respondents through 17-item questionnaire and 3-item interview question as the instruments for collecting data. Findings of the study show that NTA has effectively carried out their duty in broadcasting foreign policy news to the public. This study also indicated that, authenticity of the news is a top priority as it is a national television in which foreign media get news about Nigeria. the researcher however recommends that further studies should be conducted to examine how more people especially the youths can get unlimited access to foreign policy news on NTA as the world today is being digitalized.
