ABSTRACT
This study examined Identified problems in Biology instruction between male and female secondary school students. By investigating the identified problems in Biology instruction between male and female secondary school students, this study aims to shed light on potential gender-based disparities in learning outcomes and instructional approaches. Understanding these differences can help educators develop more inclusive and effective teaching strategies to promote equal opportunities for all students in Biology education. Three (3) research questions were raised to guide the study. This study adopted a survey research design sampling technique in order to achieve the purpose of this study. The sample for this study consisted of two hundred and eighty (280) respondents from two (2) public schools, two (2) federal schools and three (3) private schools in Egor local government area of Edo state. Data was collected with the aid of questionnaire. The validity of the instrument were ascertained through face validity and using exert judgment. Data collected were analyzed using mean value. Based on the findings of the study, it was ascertained that certain problems occur in Biology instruction and this is peculiar to both the male and female secondary school students, Teaching approaches play crucial role in shaping the learning experience of students in Biology, identified problems in Biology instruction are remarkably similar for both genders. In the light of this, xi Biology teachers should improvise some instructional aids to supplement the non- available ones and should be given incentives to foster interest in their jobs. Finally, to address the identified problems, government should provide funds to help facilitate the rendering of Biology instruction.
