ABSTRACT
The subject matter of this research work is to assess adult education programmes in alleviating poverty among rural women of Egor Local Government Area of Edi State. The total population of this study was two hundred and seven persons (207), using a simple random sampling technique, the numbers of respondents became one hundred and seven (107). Four research questions were formulated to guide the study, from which the questionnaire was designed. From the analyzed data, it showed that residents of Egor communities, particularly rural women, have a high level of awareness about adult education programme which is driven by socio-economic development with little or no barrier hindering them.
