AN APPLICATION FOR ADVANCING SOCIAL JUSTICE IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

ABSTRACT

In response to the persistent challenges of discrimination, harassment, and bias faced by students in Nigerian tertiary institutions, this project introduces FairSquare, a mobile application designed to address incidents of social injustice. Despite the commitment of educational institutions to foster inclusivity, students continue to experience various forms of injustice, often aggarvated by the issue of underreporting due to fear and lack of support. FairSquare aims to provide a solution by offering a platform for students to confidentially report incidents, ensuring user safety and accountability. Additionally, it provides educational resources to empower users in recognizing and addressing social injustices effectively. This project recognizes the profound impact of social injustice on students' mental health and academic experiences, and seeks to create a fair and inclusive environment where all students feel supported and secure. Through FairSquare, we aim to promote social justice and contribute to the creation of safer educational environments for Nigerian students
