ABSTRACT
There is the argument that there are no true or complete synonyms in all the natural languages. This work investigates the veracity and erroneousness of this general assumption with IkA dialect of Igbo language and how to help language learners. The data collected for this research was through oral interview with native speakers of IKA dialect and observations. Descriptive approach was adopted for analysis to determine, and to what extent, a relationship exists between two or more variables. In the cause of this work, it would be discovered that the general assumption that there are no real synonyms in any natural language is an overstatement. This is so because; there are so many IKA synonyms that have exactly the same meaning. This Academic work would be beneficial to language scholars, linguists, language learners and lexicographers.
