ABSTRACT
This research work scrutinized the linguistic use of selected Eulogies in Yoruba Language. This work seeks to fill the gap on the proper documentation of eulogies in Yoruba and to preserve the culture behind them. The theoretical framework employed is „The Rhetorical Theory”. The source of this project is gotten from interview sand participant observation which is the primary data and books and online sources which are secondary data. The findings of the study are Names are not given anyhow in Yoruba land, the eulogy for the Yoruba culture are not limited because they have different oriki for different occasions and little work has been done on eulogies and it needs to be expanded on. In conclusion, the eulogies of the Yoruba‟s should be upheld with so much respect because of the cultural significance.
