ABSTRACT
Gas lift is one of the artificial methods, of producing a well by injecting high-pressure gas down hole to lighten the fluid column and reduce surface backpressure on producing formation thereby oil and gas recovery. However, if this gas lift is not carefully optimized the reverse will be the case Gas lift optimization involves using the minimum gas (gas lift) to get the maximum liquid rate possible and not oil only. This project discussed procedures for gas lift optimizing, methods for gas lift rate measurement and a proven method of determining individual gas lift gas input rate for a dual completed well. Also, studies were conducted and methods used to increase oil production and optimized injected gas liquid ratio (IGLR) and total gas liquid ratio (TGLR). It also reviewed the gas injection, and oil and gas production performance of Six MPN’s offshore wells; effects of varying gas lift chokes on IGLR and TGLR.
