ABSTRACT
This research investigates the viability of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms as opposed to litigation in the resolution of medical negligence disputes in Nigeria. ADR has become a viable option to litigation with its numerous benefits which override tradition litigation. The litigation of medical negligence cases can be complex, time-consuming, costly and emotionally burdensome. This research proposes ADR as a solution to the problems associated with medical negligence litigation. It also offers ideas and solutions to encourage its acceptance in Nigeria as a first-choice option for the resolution of medical negligence disputes.
