ABSTRACT
This study sought to bring out the uniqueness of Benin Ankara fabric through creation of contemporary design suitable for youth. This research therefore explore the use of Benin Ankara fabric for Recreative design. Through the Exhibition put together different Benin Ankara fabrics were used to make dresses for both male and female for visual perception and understanding of the research. This study also aim to explore the Benin people and culture Relevant literature were consulted in addition to the pratical aspect of the research. The research concludes that the use of Benin Ankara fabric in contemporary fashion is a testament to the versatility and beauty of this fabric.The researcher made use of both secondary and experimental methods to carry out this project successfully by consulting useful books journals and also the internet in relation to the Benin Ankara fabrics and also a run way exhibition was set up to showcase the designs made with the Benin Ankara fabric for better understanding of this project.
