ABSTRACT

The study investigated advertising and Growth of some selected small and medium Enterprises in Benin City. The main objective of this study is to examine the effects of advertising on the growth of some selected small businesses in Benin City branch with a sample size of 65, the findings also showed that there is significant effect on direct advertising on the growth of small business in Benin City. And also it revealed that there is significant effect on informative advertising on customer’s purchasing decision in Benin City. The study recommended that government should provide an enabling environment for small scale business to strive in Benin City. This can be best achieved through maintaining a friendly business environment for the Benin people. This will help to improve small scale businesses and enable effective marketing in Benin City. Government should create empowerment programs which will provide more job opportunities to the urban and rural populace in Benin City and improve small scale business in Benin City. This will also boost local economy.
