ABSTRACT
Introduction: A Community pharmacy is a place where healthcare is rendered to patients and members of the public. It provides activities such as pharmaceutical care, Immunization, Patient follow-up, monitoring of vital signs, dispensing of medications, and public health care. The development of digital technologies has revolutionized the delivery of healthcare by providing better services to improve patient care and outcomes. Aim: The study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of community pharmacy practice in Nigeria by utilizing digital technologies. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in community pharmacies among actively practicing community pharmacists. Data for the research was obtained using a carefully designed questionnaire. A statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS Version 23) was used for descriptive analysis. Results: An overall of 239 participants were recruited with a 100% response rate. The bulk of the participants were men making up 54.8% of the research populace with one of the most typical years of experience between 1-5 years making up 35.6%. The portion of participants accustomed to Digitech was 86.4%. There was significant difficulty in the execution of Digitech, which was lack of training making up 39.7%. Most of the participants accounting for 54.8% recognized enhanced patient care as the major benefit they have gotten from the use of Digitech with Telepharmacy consultations at 54.8% as the most utilized digital technology. Conclusion: The usage of digital technology is in high demand since it has been shown to enhance patient care in general. Addressing barriers to its implementation through targeted interventions, including tailored training programs and financial support, is crucial to maximizing the potential of digital technologies in community pharmacy settings.
