The cost of construction site accidents might be reduced if health and safety rules were followed on the job site. As a result, an accident caused by a contractor's failure to follow construction H&S regulations might reduce their profit margins and productivity. As a result, it is important to study the extent to which the Nigerian construction sector follows health and safety laws on building sites. This study looked into the level of adherence to health and safety laws and regulations on building sites by assessing construction experts' perceptions of whether or not safety standards are followed in Edo state.A total of 200 questionnaires were sent out to construction experts, with 150 of them being returned. SPSS was used to analyze the 150 questionnaires that were obtained (V.27). The findings revealed that the safety kits provided on construction sites are not used adequately or appropriately, and that it will be difficult to alleviate the setback of workers acclimating to safety practices in order to improve the safety performance of the Nigerian construction industry, because it was not part of their training due to the high level of illiteracy among construction workers. It is therefore recommended that safety personnel conduct regular safety briefings and trainings to educate construction workers, and that clients and contractors appoint safety personnel on site to ensure that safety policies are implemented and that safety adherence on construction sites is monitored.
