ABSTRACT
Asthma is a complex syndrome with many clinical phenotypes in both adult and children. It major characteristics include variable degree of airflow obstruction, bronchial hyperresponsiveness and airway inflammation. Solanum nigrum L. is a herb with various part used in medicinally for the treatment of different kinds of diseases such as asthma. Several drug has been used to control asthma, however a permanent cure for asthma is still elusive. The inflammation produced by lymphocyte has been suggested by several worker. The effect of ethanol extract of Solanum nigrum l, on the level of lymphocyte in the lungs of overalbumin induced Guinea pigs have been examined in this study. The guinea pigs were divided into 6 groups of animals each. 30 guinea pigs were sensitized and expose to overalbumin by way of challenging them, from the experiment carried out. The level of lymphocyte in the lungs is observed when the guinea pigs is treated with Solanum nigrum loca.
