ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research study was to examine the Accounting Skills Required By Business Education Graduates For Substainable Enterpreneurship. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. To achieve this, the description survey research design was used to accomplish the objectives of the study. The population of the study was 150, due to the manageable size there was no sampling. The instrument for collecting data was a structured questionnaire which was developed by the researcher and was validated by the researcher’s supervisor and two experts from the department of vocational and technical education. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.711 using cronbach alpha statistics. Research findings showed that there are specific accounting skills that are needed for substainable entrepreneurship by business education Graduates. The study also revealed that there are barriers that limits business education students from becoming substantial in the Enterpreneurship industry and that there are also ways in which business education can be adapted to prepare students better for substainable entrepreneurship. To this end, the research recommends that those specific accounting skills that are needed for substainability be included into business education curriculum. Adequate funds should be provided by the government and also, the government should join hands with enterpreneurship firms to give mentorship training to students as this will build them up and enable them thrive to achieve substainability.
