ABSTRACT
The study investigates the impact of accounting profession on economic development in Nigeria. The data for the study analysis was gotten from the structured questionnaire filled by 50 respondents. Chi-square analysis was used to test all hypotheses formulated, while correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variables. The study revealed a positive relationship between accounting profession and economic development, a negative relationship between accounting standard and economic development. The study recommends that government should partner with professional bodies yto ensure that all government parastatals act in accordance to all accounting standards.
