ABSTRACT
This study investigated abuse and brutality in Ikechukwu Asika's novel, Love of an Angel. It thoroughly analyzed the different forms of abuse, including physical, verbal, sexual, and psychological realms. Furthermore, it dissected the literary techniques utilized to augment the work. This analysis sheds light on the diverse expressions of child abuse and domestic violence, highlighting their profound repercussions on victims.
The study adopted content qualitative approach with focus on content analysis.
The study showed that verbal abuse, physical abuse, child abuse and forced labor, and sexual abuse are instances of domestic violence against children and teenagers in Nigeria. Also, the study showed that emotional, psychological, and physical brutality are instances of mistreatment again children and teenagers in Nigeria.
