ABSTRACT
This research focuses on Abomination and Atonement among the Oviorie-Ovu people. It emphasized that the beginning of abominable acts gaverise to the need of atonement practices. Abomination and atonement have been dated back to the origin of religion and human existence, and have been one of the sources for retaining culural heritage. The concept of abomination means to do something that does not conform to the norms of a society and atonement means seeking forgiveness for wrong doing
