ABSTRACT
Psychological abuse/violence is a form of abuse characterized by a person subjecting or exposing another person to a behavior that may result in psychological trauma including anxiety, chronic depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Dutton, Donald G. (Summer 1994). The purpose of this project was to shine light on the violence against men, majorly on the psychological violence against men. Research was done on the aspects of psychological and domestic violence, to see how these types of abuse have had an impact on the victim from a physical and emotional perspective. The simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample for the study. The project was carried out in stages. Stage 1: construction of stretcher, Stage 2: sizing and Priming, Stage 3: preliminary sketch, Stage 4: sketch on canvas, Stage 4: blocking on colour, Stage 5: detailing of figures, Stage 6: finished work. The study revealed that the office of National statistics figures show every year that one in these victims of domestic violence are male, equating to 757,000 men. 61% of men who call the mankind initiative helpline have never spoken to anyone before about the abuse they are suffering and 64% would not have called if the helpline was not anonymous. (Ramon Bernard Younger, May 2011). It draws a conclusion that men are not encouraged to speak up but man up which is a bad notion, because even when suffering they are expected to be productive. I recommend that we should encourage men to speak up and show emotion, and also speak up when being abused
