ABSTRACT
The monogenean and cestode parasites of amphibians from Uzere community in Isoko south LGA of Delta State was studied between months of February and May, 2017.A total of 47 amphibians were investigated and they include 1Afrixalusdorsalis,13Afrixalusfulvovittatus, 1Amietophrynusmaculatus,2Hylaranagalamensis,1Hoplobatrachusoccipitalis,1Hyperoliusgultulatus, 1Hyperoliusconcolor, 3Phrynobatrachussp., 2Ptychadenabibroni, 5 Ptychadenamascarenensis, 14 Ptychadenaoxyrynchus and 2Ptychadenapumilio.
The parasites recorded were one monognean, PolystomapriceiPtychadenamascareniensis. The cestodes parasites found were the encysted larva of a protoecephalidcestode recovered from the body cavity of Hoplobatrachusoccipitalis, Cylindrotaeniajaegerskioeldi was a multi-host parasite recovered from the small intestines of A. fulvovittatus,Pty. mascareniensis and Pty. pumilio, and Oochoristica sp. from the small intestine of Ptychadenaoxyrynchus. Ptychadenaoxyrhynchusis a new host record for Oochoristica.
