ABSTRACT
Temporal specification is the study of time specification. It deals with the verbs that ae responsible for marking time. Tense can be divided into the past present and the future. The ika This study is examining temporal specification of the Ika language, how these tenses are marked in past, present and future in the Ika language.
The reason for this study is to create materials for ika language teachers. This study enables individuals to to make clear distinctions between the various tense marking in the Ika language. The data was collected with the aid of a tape recorder and it was also written during the course of the interview. The study showed that Ika language ca be divided into three major frames, it also showed that that Ika language in its uniqueness, the tense can be separated from the aspect.
