Abstract
The present study examined the language attitudes of police officers towards Ẹdo. The aim of the study was to find out the attitudes of these police officers toward Ẹdo. The data relied on for the study was gotten through the use of questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed by the use of tables showing the police officers’ responses in frequencies and percentages. The theoretical framework employed was the language attitude theory. The data analysis revealed that the attitude toward Ẹdo is on the negative side and unless something is done the language might go into extinction. The study found among other things that the attitude towards Ẹdo is negative and that emphasis on English in the society had contributed its quota in the resultant negative attitudes.
