ABSTRACT
The study was aimed at educating and creating awareness to undergraduate actors and directors of the University of Benin on a study of the Art of acting, the actor and his roles in order for them to become better and expressive actors with believable performances. In this study, a survey research design was adopted. Only the department of Theatre Arts, Ekehuan campus, University of Benin was covered. The purposive sampling method was applied for this study. For the survey design, an eighteen item questionnaire was used to collect data from 100 students of Ekehuan campus University of Benin. As a result of the field study and analysis of results, the findings revealed that not all actors and directors of the department are versatile with the concept of acting and not all are aware of the fact that an actor needs to prepare to take on a role.
